The disease is the path

Sorry for those who don't speak Portuguese. This is the first English post and I'll try to keep it that way from now. Everything that was and will be written here is just my personal view of the world around me and... sorry... the world is crazy. (ah?!).

I am an advertiser and one very popular "thing" in the advertisement world is what we call virals. Actually I don't believe in virals but I have to deal with it almost everyday. As far as I understand (I don't understand many things) viral in the "ad world" means good idea and this is what we are supposed to do in every project. The traditional advertisement market invented a word to represent a "kind of campaign" but they have to assume they are actually sick.

Loads of brands want to make viral campaigns. Why? Does it sounds crazy just for me?

They want to create something cool to grab the audience attention and then, when we got them in our hands, we show them the truth - we just want to sell you drugs... or cars... or mobile.

Well, isn't that cool by itself? people already want to get drugs, cars and mobiles... (I need a car... afe) if this is not true, I suggest you, the brand, to quit your business and open a restaurant - I am very very confident people want to eat, good things, and every day... and the best, we know, people will do it.

Paragraph about AIDS
I don't believe in AIDS as well. Any physical condition is just a representation of a state of mind. Various scientists say things like everybody has different levels of HIV infection, the AIDS test is not specific for HIV, everybody has HIV antibodies and other things like that. To know more about it go here.

I see agencies going mad trying to create new models, building digital creative teams and trying to find out the best way to stand out in the middle of this mess. But in my opinion, we need to understand that the best way to grab people is targeting the heart and the best way to reach the heart is with love and truth, not with biological war. It's time to educate and realize things have changed.

Ok... all right, but what is this for?

In the past I would say: "for nothing, just my thoughts, today" but today I feel comfortable saying: "to open my eyes".
